Egypt finds arms caches near Gaza border
Egyptian police have discovered two arms caches in northern Sinai near the border with the Gaza Strip, including hand and rocket-propelled grenades.
Police discovered the weaponry in two boxes in Al-Ahrash near the border, the official said on condition of anonymity.
Police said that they found no one with the weapons and had no immediate leads on who had hidden them. They said that security patrols had scoured the area for other caches but had found none.
Israel has repeatedly complained that Egypt is not doing enough to prevent arms smuggling by Palestinian militants through tunnels under the Gaza border.
